Sitting in my kitchen

A few days ago I was sitting at my kitchen table and I noticed the way the light was streaming in....across the room and across the objects on the cabinet below.  I saw the cabinet with fresh eyes.  It is original paint and has been in my kitchen for quite some time.  It is one of my favorite pieces.  The picture has not been set up....cropped or changed in any way....I just thought it was so perfect....not contrived. 

So then I decided to keep looking around the kitchen because the quality of the light was so spectacular, and find other areas to photograph while sitting in my chair.

Valentines Sundae

Tasty looking...actually it is a bath bomb & bath salts in an Ice Cream Sundae dish!

I bought these bath fizzy bombs and loved them so much....

Probably because they reminded me of an Ice Cream Sundae....yum!

 I happened to have a box of these vintage Ice Cream Sundae Dishes....

new/old stock from an old drug store.

(actually the same drug store that I got the green pharmacy jars from....small world!)

The colors were so tasty looking and the scents were lovely...

Pear, Red Clover & Tea, Oatmeal Milk & Honey, Spearmint Rosemary,

Black Rasberry & Vanilla, Crystal Blue Waters, Lavender, etc. 

I added 4 ounces of bath salts to the bottom of the Ice Cream Sundae Dish

The green salts are Pearberry....de-lish

and the white salts are Cool Fresh Aloe

They also looked great displayed simply, in a decorative white dish

Another Unbeliveably Beautiful Snow Storm

Upon returning home......we were hit with another snow storm

Different from the Virginia shore but just as beautiful in its' own way

I always make sure I feed my birds.  This large parrot cage makes a wonderful playground for my feathered friends.  They just love hopping in and out, on top of and around it. I haven't cleaned the snow out of it yet but the other feeder is quite active. 

The way the snow stuck to the bushes and trees was quite beautiful

My Barn looked very far away.........

I decided it was better to stay inside and watch my friends from the window....brrrrr

A Rare Virginia Shore Winter Wonderland

Walter and I are back from our trip to Virginia....a well needed rest

Here are some photos of a rare snowstorm on the

Eastern Shore of Virginia where we stayed

It was both scary and beautiful....the wind was fierce and boy was it cold



The wind was whipping...and where I was standing,
to take the photo, was a solid sheet of ice



The Sky was grey and hauntingly beautiful

It was sooooooo quiet....not a creature was stirring (except me)

The salt spray was drenching me....I wish you could hear the roar of the wind

Here's the sun glistening on the ice the next day

It was so breathtakingly beautiful.....I took so many photos
 that it's hard to choose which ones to show you

Then....all of a sudden the sun came out and it was gone....

The birds came out to play again
and
We left to go to the Antique Mall in Virginia, called

One Last Holiday Give-a-way

We are giving away these wonderful, original scent, hand poured soy candles that we made with our own  little hands and lots of love.  We used these vintage, green glass pharmaceutical jars from the 1930's.  The jars were old/new stock from a long ago closed drug store. We were able to score a couple of cases of them.  We were so excited with our find and so very pleased with ourselves in making candles with them.  They were a hit....I guess other people loved them as much as we did!   We have sold out of them, except for these last two hold-outs.....so we thought we'd give them away for the New Year!
