Wishing you a Merry Christmas

I found this fabulous Driftwood Christmas Tree

and these festive Holiday Candle Holders in
They always have interesting items at such reasonable prices.
The Driftwood Christmas Tree was $29.99
and each of the 3 candle holders were around $5.00 each....a bargain.
The two wreaths were each under $20.00
This display came out so warm and inviting and looks great day or night.

Thanks Home Goods!

Our Friendly Whales & Driftwood Sailboats are Finally Here

Whale Cut-outs and a Sailboat Give-a-way.

Our Whale Cut-Outs and Driftwood Sailboats are finally up for sale on the website.  It was touch and go there for awhile, because we sold out of the original batch before we could get them listed on the website.  Walter managed to make more for me, for which I am very grateful.
This batch is great....the driftwood is spectacular!
The driftwood comes from our local Long Island Beaches or from Virginia's Chesapeake Bay Shores.  I found fabulous Red Cedar Driftwood this time....woo woo!!

We also made Colorful Driftwood Sailboats
The sails are made of vintage fabric and we used the same fabulous driftwood

To kick off our new line....
we are giving away this Sailboat
This Catboat Rig  measures 28" high x 21" long on a piece
Long Island driftwood with vintage canvas sail

 Just become a follower
and leave a comment for two chances to win.

You have until Midnight Sunday November 27th
We will pick a winner and post it on Monday the 28th

Good luck to everyone - I'll look forward to hearing from you

Long Island Whale Watching

Our pod of friendly whales are almost here
We have been busy working on our newly designed whales.
They are made of antique barn wood with a nice thickness and are quite solid.

We have several sizes with each having different patinas....
waxed, oiled or completely natural, making them similar.....yet each one an individual.

This particular variety is mounted on on a metal rod and attached to a piece of driftwood.
We will have many other varieties, including hanging, shelf sitters,
painted etc. along with several different styles and shapes.
Many of them have been cut out so as to use a knot in the wood as the whales eye.....

We are working diligently to get them up for sale on the website
by the beginning of next week...November 7th or 8th.
We will have other surprises also

They are swimming our way.....as fast as they can!

Handcrafted Halloween Dollhouse

As some of you know, I have a space in an Antique Mall in Virginia called the Blue Crow

I was there last week, restocking my booth and saw these....

There is a lady that works there named Connie.
She makes these fantastic Halloween Dollhouses.
The attention to detail is quite amazing.
They are intricate and very well thought out.
I just loved them.

One of My Favorite Furniture Finds

This is one of my all time favorite furniture finds
It stands in my kitchen and is just as I found it.
I love the multiple layers of original chippy paint.

All I did was clear-coat it to preserve it.

Some people would not like it so distressed but that's why
I love it
The interesting places it has been and stories it would tell
I like the idea that I rescued it and now it stands
proudly in service, once again

Distinctly Different Fall Decor

Decor for Fall need not be your typical Pumpkins and Leaves

I found these arrows at a sale.
They reminded me of fall when displayed in the crock.

Some vintage paint brushes displayed in an old terracotta flower pot pushed me to add other mismatched items to accompany it.
Somehow it all works together...It's looking like fall.
